Se describe e ilustra una nueva especie del género Potamobates (Insecta: Hemiptera: Gerridae: Cylindrostethinae) a partir de machos capturados en el Pacífico Colombiano. Potamobates bilobulatus  Morales, Molano & Castro sp. nov., se diferencia de otras especies del género por caracteres de los órganos genitales del macho y de las conexivas de las hembras.

Based on males collected in the Colombian Pacific, a new species of the genus Potamobates (Hemiptera: Gerridae: Cylindrostethinae) is described and illustrated. Potamobates bilobulatus Morales, Molano & Castro sp. nov., is differentiated from other species of the genus by features of the male genitalia and of the female connexives.
