Sumario:
Ante la alta contagiosidad, capacidad patógena y mutante del Sars-Cov-2, y la inexistencia de una vacuna o medicamento efectivo que pueda prevenir o curar el COVID-19, las únicas medidas que a la fecha se han mostrado eficaces son el confinamiento y distanciamiento social, el testeo masivo de las poblaciones en alto riesgo, la antisepsia y desinfección de personas, objetos y espacios, y la búsqueda activa de infectados, sospechosos, asintomáticos y sus contactos estrechos y casuales. Estas medidas de contención, prevención y control forman parte del arsenal de acciones unificadas del Estado, la sociedad y los sistemas de salud, para enfrentar la pandemia generada por el nuevo coronavirus.
