Con un horizonte de investigación filosófica, se presentan algunos cuestionamientos sobre el concepto «otro» en relación con lo que en este trabajo se ha denominado, siguiendo la noción de campo de Bourdieu, el campo hermenéutico para el desarrollo (CHD). Para tales fines, en la primera parte se muestra como la concepción general sobre el «otro» suele reducirse a una generalización moralizante y dogmática sobre lo diferente. La segunda parte presenta ciertas pistas interpretativas para pensar, desde algunos filósofos, el concepto «otro». En la tercera sección se muestra la concepción de campo y a partir de allí se enuncian algunos elementos configuradores del CHD.
