Se reflexiona sobre acciones e iniciativas desarrolladas en tres lugares turísticos del departamento de Lavalleja, Rou del Uruguay, en el marco del Observatorio de Inteligencia y Desarrollo Territorial como estrategia más amplia de desarrollo turístico sustentable y herramienta útil de conservación de biodiversidad, del patrimonio y mejora de calidad de vida. Se indaga la relación entre los lugares, el desarrollo turístico sustentable y la inteligencia territorial, entendida como un campo multidisciplinar que tiene por objeto el desarrollo sustentable de los territorios, y por sujeto, a las comunidades territoriales. THE CASE OF MINAS, LAVALLEJA, (URUGUAY) Se reflexiona sobre acciones e iniciativas desarrolladas en tres lugares turísticos del departamento de Lavalleja, Rou del Uruguay, en el marco del Observatorio de Inteligencia y Desarrollo Territorial como estrategia más amplia de desarrollo turístico sustentable y herramienta útil de conservación de biodiversidad, del patrimonio y mejora de calidad de vida. Se indaga la relación entre los lugares, el desarrollo turístico sustentable y la inteligencia territorial, entendida como un campo multidisciplinar que tiene por objeto el desarrollo sustentable de los territorios, y por sujeto, a las comunidades territoriales. Se analizan fuentes primaras, secundarias y, desde una metodología cualitativa (entrevistas), en qué medida están presentes en las acciones e iniciativas de los diferentes actores del territorio: a) la valorización de aspectos patrimoniales naturales y culturales en lugares seleccionados, b) el alcance de dimensiones de sustentabilidad, c) en qué grado se manifiestan lecturas en clave de inteligencia territorial. The paper reflects on actions and initiatives developed in 3 tourist places in the department of Lavalleja, ROU of Uruguay, under the Observatory Intelligence and Territorial Development analysis, as a broader strategy for sustainable tourism development and as a useful tool for biodiversity and heritage conservation, and to improved quality of life. We research on the relationship between places, the development of sustainable tourism and Territorial Intelligence; understood as a multidisciplinary field looking for sustainable development of territories, focusing on the territorial communities as subjects of study. Primaries, and secondary sources of information are analyzed under a qualitative methodology and interviews, that provide the measure of the presence of actions and initiatives of different actors in the territory: a) the enrichment of natural and cultural heritage features in selected locations, b) the extent of the sustainability, c) the degree to which readings are expressed in terms of Territorial Intelligence.
