En los últimos años hemos observado una verdadera internacionalización del derecho que regula la propiedad intelectual. Así, hoy es posible familiarizarse fácilmente con legislaciones extranjeras que rigen la materia, dada su creciente uniformidad y homogeneidad. Lo anterior es el resultado de numerosos tratados internacionales y de dos organizaciones internacionales: en el plano multilateral, la Organización Mundial de Propiedad Intelectual (OMPI) administra 24 acuerdos sobre propiedad intelectual, y por su parte, la Organización Mundial de Comercio (OMC) está a cargo del Acuerdo ADPIC (Acuerdo sobre los Aspectos de los Derechos de Propiedad Intelectual relacionados con el Comercio), adoptado en 1994. Así, hoy es posible familiarizarse fácilmente con legislaciones extranjeras que rigen la materia, dada su creciente uniformidad y homogeneidad. Lo anterior es el resultado de numerosos tratados internacionales y de dos organizaciones internacionales: en el plano multilateral, la Organización Mundial de Propiedad Intelectual (OMPI) administra 24 acuerdos sobre propiedad intelectual, y por su parte, la Organización Mundial de Comercio (OMC) está a cargo del Acuerdo ADPIC (Acuerdo sobre los Aspectos de los Derechos de Propiedad Intelectual relacionados con el Comercio), adoptado en 1994. A lo anterior se suman numerosos tratados bilaterales, en forma de acuerdos de libre comercio, que contienen capítulos sobre propiedad intelectual. En este trabajo se realiza una revisión cronológica de la evolución del derecho internacional de la propiedad intelectual. In recent years we have seen a true internationalization of intellectual property laws. So today one can easily familiarize with foreign laws on intellectual property, due to their increasing uniformity and homogeneity. This is the result of numerous international treaties and two international organizations. At the multilateral level, the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) administers 24 treaties on intellectual property, and for its part, the World Trade Organization (WTO) is in charge of the well-known trips Agreement (Agreement on Trade-Related Aspects of Intellectual Property Rights), adopted in 1994. Furthermore there are several bilateral treaties in the form of free trade agreements that contain intellectual property chapters.
