Este artículo describe el contexto en el cual se establece el foro anual del Consejo Económico y Social (ECOSOC) de seguimiento a la financiación para el desarrollo (en adelante el foro), previsto por el parágrafo 132 de la Agenda de Acción de Addis Abeba, llamado a ser un instrumento que contribuya a monitorear y mejorar los mecanismos de financiamiento para la consecución de los Objetivos de Desarrollo Sostenible (ODS) aprobados en la Cumbre Mundial realizada en Nueva York en septiembre de 2015. En este sentido, se analizan los resultados de la primera reunión del foro (abril de 2016) y las expectativas que pudiera generar en el cumplimiento de sus objetivos.

En este sentido, se analizan los resultados de la primera reunión del foro (abril de 2016) y las expectativas que pudiera generar en el cumplimiento de sus objetivos. This article describes the ecosoc Forum on Financing for Development follow-up. This Forum was created in terms of the paragraph 132 of the Addis Ababa Action Agenda as a focal point to assess and improve mechanisms on financing for development in order to contribute to the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals approved in the world summit held in New York in September 2015. In this sense, the article also reviews discussions and the final outcome of the forum first meeting (April 2016) as well as expectations in the fulfilment of its objectives.
