El siguiente documento reseña la política científica, tecnológica y de innovación en la Unión Europea, desde la perspectiva de la Comisión Europea. Además, identifica la estrategia planeada para el periodo 2010-2020 dedicada exclusivamente a este tema, por medio de ella se precisa qué herramientas e indicadores han sido diseñados para el control de su ejecución. También en este artículo se describen aspectos importantes de las más relevantes encuestas realizadas a la población europea sobre temas de innovación, cuyos resultados dan visos interesantes de su desarrollo y apreciación de parte de esta comunidad económica.
