Después de la disolución de la Unión Soviética en 1991, los países de Asia Central buscaron desarrollar la integración regional. A pesar de las declaraciones de los estados para mejorar la cooperación económica y política, no se lograron resultados concretos. Este documento analiza el tema de la integración regional en Asia Central aplicando la teoría del intergubernamentalismo de Stanley Hoffmann. El estudio muestra que las divergentes opiniones de los presidentes de Kazajistán y Uzbekistán obstaculizaron significativamente el desarrollo de la integración regional. Después de la disolución de la Unión Soviética en 1991, los países de Asia Central buscaron desarrollar la integración regional. A pesar de las declaraciones de los estados para mejorar la cooperación económica y política, no se lograron resultados concretos. Este documento analiza el tema de la integración regional en Asia Central aplicando la teoría del intergubernamentalismo de Stanley Hoffmann. El estudio muestra que las divergentes opiniones de los presidentes de Kazajistán y Uzbekistán obstaculizaron significativamente el desarrollo de la integración regional. After dissolution of the Soviet Union in 1991, the Central Asian countries aimed to develop regional integration. Despite declarations of the states to enhance economic and political cooperation, the Central Asian integration institution was dissolved in 2005. This paper analyses the issue of regional integration in Central Asia with application of intergovernmentalism by Stanley Hoffmann with the aim of explaining hindrances which led to dissolution of the Central Asian integration structure. that divergent views of Presidents of Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan significantly hindered the development of the regional integration.

Despite declarations of the states to enhance economic and political cooperation, the Central Asian integration institution was dissolved in 2005. This paper analyses the issue of regional integration in Central Asia with application of intergovernmentalism by Stanley Hoffmann with the aim of explaining hindrances which led to dissolution of the Central Asian integration structure. that divergent views of Presidents of Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan significantly hindered the development of the regional integration.
