Método: se hizo una revisión de literatura de 47 artículos relacionados con la terapia en espejo y el proceso de rehabilitación en miembros superiores, teniendo en cuenta publicaciones en inglés y español en las bases de datos Pubmed, Elsevier, Science Direct, Dialnet, Medline basándonos en los últimos 10 años. Resultados: Los estudios mostraron que la terapia en espejo es efectiva en el proceso de rehabilitación motora en miembros superiores en pacientes con accidente cerebrovascular siempre y cuando se combine con terapias complementarias y su periodo de rehabilitación sea extenso Conclusión: La terapia en espejo es considerada efectiva por la intervención de las neuronas espejo en el proceso de aprendizaje la cual en compañía de otros medios ayuda a la pronta recuperación de la movilidad del paciente con accidente cerebrovascular, mejorando así el desarrollo de sus actividades básicas cotidianas contribuyendo a una mejora en su calidad de vida. Objective: to verify through bibliography review the effectiveness of mirror therapy in the process of upper limb rehabilitation in patients with stroke. Method: a literature review of 50 articles related to mirror therapy and the upper limb rehabilitation process was carried out, taking into account publications in English and Spanish in Pubmed, Elsevier, Science Direct, Dialnet, Medline databases in the last 10 years. Results: Studies showed that mirror therapy is effective in the process of motor rehabilitation in upper limbs in patients with stroke as long as it is combined with complementary therapies and its rehabilitation period is extensive Conclusion: Mirror therapy is considered effective by the intervention of the mirror neurons in the learning process which, in the company of other media, helps the early recovery of the mobility of the patient with stroke, thus improving the development of their daily basic activities, contributing to an improvement in their quality of life. lifetime.
