spelling Carcinoid tumors are neoplastic growths of neuroendocrine origin. Two histological types of lesions are recognized: typical (TC) and atypical (AC) carcinoids. Although these tumors are capable of causing neuroendocrine paraneoplastic syndromes, they often remain asymptomatic throughout most of their evolution, unless they cause significant obstruction of large bronchi.Historically, conservative surgical treatment by sleeve resection and radical surgery with loss of lung tissue have been the best therapeutic choices for this malignant disease. With surgical treatment, 5- and 10-year survival rates are 61%-73% and 35%-59% for AC, and 90%-98% and 82%-95% for TC, respectively.Presently, however, endoscopic resection of these tumors can also be attempted. This achieves complete eradication in the great majority of patients. We present a case of successful resection of a TC tumor in a 28-year-old female patient
