spelling	Here we present a case of a 56-year-old female patient, who consulted for presenting left lateral chest pain of 2 days of evolution, and in her chest X-ray taken preoperatively for a thyroid nodule, a small band of flat left basal atelectasis appears. Due to persistent pain in the late postoperative period, thoracic ultrasound, bone scan, chest CT, and chest MRI studies were performed, finally finding an elastofibroma dorsi as the cause of the pain. The studies carried out are shown. Elastofibroma dorsi is a relatively rare entity of unknown pathogenesis that requires clinical suspicion for its diagnosis. Imaging can confirm the diagnosis without requiring a biopsy. Resection is necessary due to growth of the lesion or persistent pain. Relevant literature is reviewed.
