Last April 26th, the launching of our XVIII Colombian Congress of Pulmonology and Thoracic Surgery 2019 took place. The event was held in the ÁGORA Convention Center, venue of the Congress, and was attended by members of the Association, representatives of the Ministry of Health andpharmaceutical industry. Our Congress will be held in ÁGORA as well, from August 15 to 18 next year. We are confident that this academic event will contribute to the improvement of the health conditions of the country, especially respiratory health, in joint work with state health institutions.The XVIII Congress, version 2019, aims to update the contents of respiratory health, with a comprehensive and multidisciplinary view. The Congress, besides being a bet for thelearning and updating in pneumology and thoracic surgery, is a space for integration, strengthening networks and professional and institutional connections. With the participation of pulmonologists and thoracic surgeons from all over the country and the Andean area, doctors from many disciplines, nurses, physiotherapists and students, together we will continue working to improve the Colombian respiratory health. As in the previous congresses, we will have a solid academic program: lectures, symposia, workshops, continuing education courses and other activities related to the dissemination of the greatest scientific and technological advances in our specialties. The construction of the academic plan of the Congress is participatory and we expect your support in the design and content of this. For this, participation in the different committees is essential. It is also a matter of joy to announce that on Sunday, August 18, during the Congress, we will run with our families, colleagues and patients the First RESPYRUN 5K Athletic Race. It is a recreational and integration space that wants to promote physical activity as a fundamental part of respiratory health. Finally, we invite you to disseminate the Congress in its institutions, presentations and social networks, and to book from August 15 to 18, 2019 to visit Bogotá.
