La tecnología y en particular, las redes sociales constituyen un fenómeno relevante que merece estudiarse, ya que hacen parte de la “continuación de la hominización” (Lévy, 1999, p. 7). Este artículo reporta los resultados parciales de la investigación la cartografía Digital: una aproximación cultural y comunicacional a la red social Conversation Exchange. Sin embargo, se ignora la tecnología más allá del nivel instrumental. Este artículo reporta los resultados parciales de la investigación la cartografía Digital: una aproximación cultural y comunicacional a la red social Conversation Exchange. Este estudio de caso analiza y describe las prácticas comunicacionales, culturales y la perspectiva didáctica de Conversation Exchange desde el paradigma cualitativo. Se aplicó la observación participativa semiestructurada, acompañada de un formato basado en la propuesta de Vizer (2005). Los resultados sugieren que Conversation Exchange se construye como dispositivo y escenario. Este posibilita prácticas comunicacionales de los modelos informacional, conductual y de la construcción social. Además, discursos de separación apoyan los puntos de vista cultural y didáctico presentes en la red social estudiada. Las sugerencias para futuras investigaciones incluyen el estudio holístico de la internet y las redes sociales como escenarios hiper-educativos emergentes.Abstractechnology and, particularly social networks are an important phenomenon that needs to be explored, since they are part of the “continuation of hominization” (Lévy, 1999, p. 7). However, technology beyond the instrumental level is ignored. This article reports the partial results of the research Digital mapping: A cultural and communication approach to the social network Conversation Exchange. This case report describes and analyzes the communication and cultural practices, besides educational perspective of Conversation Exchange from the qualitative paradigm. Semi-structured participant observation was used, together with a form based on the Vizer’s proposal (2005). The results suggest that Conversation Exchange is built as a device and scenery. This enables communicative practices of the informational and behavioral and the social construction models. In addition, separation speeches support cultural and educational viewpoints of the social network studied. The suggestions for future research include the holistic study of the Internet and social networks as emerging hyper-educational tools.
