Las intervenciones en la infancia deben involucrar las familias, cuidadores y grupos de educación, de los niños de 3 a 6 años, particularmente focalizados en los más pobres, como son las poblaciones indígenas de Colombia y los habitantes de zonas rurales.Los programas que desarrollan estrategias de salud, actividad física, nutrición y servicios educativos que comprometen las familias y además se caracterizan por tener una intensidad y duración suficiente, son costo-efectivos.
